The most researched, clinically validated and trusted therapeutic approach in the world.

Now available online to English-speaking Professionals in the Kraków area.

“[Cognitive Behavioral Therapy] is, indeed, the gold standard in the psychotherapy field, being included in the major clinical guidelines based on its rigorous empirical basis…”

– Frontiers in Psychiatry, 2018

A Straight-forward and Clear Approach

Your Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) sessions begin by creating a safe, comfortable space to understand your issues and the underlying thoughts and associated emotions. For some people, this is a short process, while others prefer to dive deeper into certain areas.

You learn to identify the harmful thought patterns and the emotional triggers behind your issues and you learn to deal with problematic situations you’d rather avoid. By teaching you useful psychological tools, your therapist helps you to move towards a healthy life.

Therapy should be as long as needed but as short as possible. Your therapist’s goal is to make you independent of him or her in the shortest timeframe they can. Before you commit to a programme of sessions, your therapist will be able to discuss expected timeframes for treatment.

No one should be in unnecessary emotional or mental distress

There is no issue too small that you should not want relief from. There is no problem so big that it should make you give up hope.

No one should feel their life is stuck in a rut or feel paralysed, overwhelmed or afraid that their life has no purpose or meaning.

And no one should feel they are alone in their pain.

Sometimes we need a doctor. Sometimes we need family. Sometimes we need a friend.

And sometimes we need a therapist.

Thankfully, you have excellent choices when it comes to modern therapy.

Obviously, I cannot give you any clinical advice just because you are reading this page, but I can say this. Finding out if CBT is for you is easier than you think…

If you are looking for an English-speaking therapy in Kraków, then SMS me to arrange an obligation-free, confidential*, ten-fifteen minute chat. That’s all you have to do!

Based on our chat, you will have a clear idea whether CBT is something you would like to explore and you will have a clear understanding of the next steps if that is what you wish to do.

As I said, the call comes with no obligations and is in the strictest of confidence. And here’s my promise….

If I do not think CBT is a good fit for you, I will recommend another therapy or therapist to talk to (if I believe that is the best option for you).

“I came to Dominika when I was deeply depressed and living a very limited lifestyle. Through our sessions, I learned to accept and really like myself, to face my own fears, and to regulate my own mood through the way I think about myself.

All the techniques learned in the sessions still help me a lot and, most importantly, they work. Thanks to the therapy with Dominika, I am now incomparably more satisfied and happy with myself and my life.

Starting therapy with Dominika  was the best decision in my life and the best I could have done for myself. I am incredibly grateful for all the help given to me. To everyone, I sincerely recommend working with Dominika. She is a wonderful person and therapist.”

Today’s thoughts are tomorrow’s fruit

“There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so”

Shakespeare wrote that five centuries ago. It is as true now as it was back then.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy takes this insight as the foundation of its approach.

Your CBT begins with a discovery process. With your therapist, you identify the thoughts that underlie your issues. Then comes the real work.

You are assigned exercises and tasks to complete between sessions (yes, there is homework), and this is where the progress is made. It is very true to say that you get out of CBT what you put into it.

Based on your feedback and experience with the exercises, your therapist will alter or intensify the exercise programme.

And how quickly does this work? For some, it is as soon as after the first few sessions. For others, it takes longer. It depends on the kind and complexity of your problem.

The diagnosis is usually made within the first few sessions and the individual model of the problem is drawn and explained.

The Gold Standard in Psychotherapy

This is the process I use. I learnt it directly from the CBT experts at the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre (OCTC) and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). I currently study at the Tercognitiva Therapy Centre in Poland.

I trust CBT for the same reason therapists and psychiatrists all over the world do. It’s empirically tested, extensively validated and it works.

It has delivered results for my clients with conditions including

     – mild to severe anxiety

     – body issues (including  body dysmorphic disorder)

     – personality disorders

     – procrastination

     – phobias

     – depression

     – chronic pain

     – health anxiety

     – PTSD

     – health anxiety

Thanks to your exercises, patience, and guidance I have been able to compose myself now during times that would have been more troublesome in the past.”

“Dominika is able to work with her clients to identify a desired measurable area of improvement and reframe the way that her client approaches this area.

Her techniques allowed me to look at my own behavior, visualize the change that I wanted to make and then make it. Very Quickly. She is a pleasure to work with.”

“From the beginning, I was looking for a reliable cognitive-behavioral therapist. Dominika listens very well. She is a very warm person but also very concrete.

After each visit, I saw changes in myself. Thanks to Dominika, I learned to worry less about insignificant things and to stop tormenting myself with feelings of guilt and constant ruminations. If I needed help again I would definitely return to Dominika.”

Therapy in the age of COVID

In these times, we are always looking for alternatives to face-to-face interactions. Thankfully, we have solid research that shows online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (eCBT) is as least as effective as face-to-face sessions.

While I do still offer a limited number of face-to-face sessions, I am happy to tell you that I now offer online sessions for your convenience and peace of mind.

Our results found eCBT is at least as effective as face to face CBT, thus eCBT should be offered if preferred by patients and therapists.”

“At first it seems strange, but then it makes perfect sense”

One of the most surprising things about CBT is not how quickly it can work, but when my clients realise they can use it for their professional development.

They aren’t the first to see this potential.

In addition to its therapeutic value, CBT is growing in popularity as a tool in professional and executive coaching. In fact, many of my clients describe me as their Coach.

When you understand how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to reshape your thoughts, you understand it can be used to overcome the mindset barriers that are stopping you from reaching your professional and life goals.

Some of my clients already knew this when they began working with me, but for many, it was a huge surprise and mush appreciated added value: Therapeutic help plus Professional Coaching.

It’s not just about getting better...

It’s about being better.

Therapy is about so much more than getting by or coping. It’s about more than relief from anxiety or release from fears.

It’s about who you could be when that is done.

CBT is not a magic bullet. It won’t fill the world with on-demand rainbows or bespoke unicorns. It won’t even make you the best you can be (whatever that might be). But it can do this.

It can help you get out of your own way so you have a decent chance at the life you want.

For most of us, that’s about doing work we are proud of. It’s about being there for the people we love. It’s about looking at our lives and being able to say, yes, I’m where I want to be.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy helps to level the playing field.

Is CBT for you?

Maybe yes. Maybe not.

As I said above, if you are looking for an English-speaking therapist in Kraków, just SMS me to arrange an obligation-free, confidential, ten-fifteen minute chat.

Based on our chat, you will have a clear idea of whether CBT is something you would like to pursue.

Your call comes with no obligations and is in the strictest of confidence.

And here’s my promise….

If I do not think CBT is a good fit for you, I will recommend another therapy or therapist to talk to, if I believe that is the best option for you.

I look forward to chatting with you!
